4 top destinations in Morocco
By Jessica Gallant - Nomade Magazine I invite you to discover four must-see destinations in Morocco, each offering a thrilling and memorable experience. Vibrant, dynamic Marrakech will charm you with its colorful medina and remarkable historic sites. The Sahara Desert will enchant you with its golden dunes and starry nights. Essaouira, a peaceful coastal town, will seduce you with its maritime charm and delicious cuisine. Chefchaouen, nestled in the mountains, will enchant you with its picturesque blue streets and relaxed atmosphere. Are you ready to fall under the spell of this fascinating country ? Marrakech The city of Marrakech, tourism capital par excellence, impressed me despite the constant hustle and bustle. Protected by imposing walls, its medina is a maze of diverse shops and lively souks where you can discover local crafts. The Café Kessabine restaurant was one of my favorite places to stop and soak up the atmosphere of the city, with its surprising menu and breathtaking view from its terrace. In terms of accommodation, I felt totally transported into an Aladdin movie thanks to the idyllic decor and comfort of Riad La Terrasse des Oliviers. This haven of peace offers a luxurious stay nestled in the old town, steeped in Moroccan hospitality. Among the historic sites not to be missed, the Palais El Badi, former royal residence, impresses with its grandeur and architecture. The Medersa Ben Youssef, a 16th-century Koranic school, is an architectural jewel where Moroccan art unfolds in every detail. The Majorelle garden, created by painter Jacques Majorelle and restored by Yves Saint Laurent, offers a lovely oasis of exotic plants in the heart of the new town. Finally, Jemaa el-Fna square, an open-air theater, reveals all its magic at dusk, when the locals gather to celebrate their traditions with songs and various artistic performances. Le désert du Sahara During my stopover in Marrakech, I seized the opportunity to join an excursion leading to the Sahara desert, an adventure I'd been wanting to experience for a long time. I'm telling you, the three-day itinerary, starting in Marrakech and ending in Merzouga, is an escapade you must experience at least once in your life ! On the first day, we drove from the snow-capped mountains of the High Atlas to the famous Kasbah d'Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ending in the Rose and Dades valleys at sunset. On the second day, we explored the impressive Todra Gorge, discovered a desert landscape with stunning palm groves, then reached the orange sand dunes of Merzouga for a dreamy night under the stars. The camel ride across the dunes was an unforgettable experience. This unique experience definitely added a touch of magic to my adventure. On the third day, after a breathtaking sunrise, we headed back to Marrakech, enjoying a final meal overlooking Ouarzazate. Essaouira After the hustle and bustle of Marrakech and the cooler nights in the Sahara desert, Essaouira was the perfect refuge to recharge your batteries. In just two days, I was dazzled by this coastal town's calm and bewitching trade winds. The medina, formerly known as Mogador, is an enchantment for the senses, with its white walls contrasting with the colorful carpets hanging from the walls. Avenue Mohamed Zerktouni also offers a sensory experience with its spices and olives, while the Mellah district, although neglected, reveals a distinct atmosphere steeped in history. Essaouira's ramparts offer postcard-perfect views of the ocean and the port, with its pretty blue boats and shacks where you can buy fresh fish along the shore. The beach, popular with surfers and kitesurfers, is ideal for relaxing with a cup of mint tea. Riad Malaïka, set in the center of the old town, was my refuge, with its enchanting atmosphere and attentive service. The refined meals were unforgettable moments, as were the sunsets from the rooftop terrace. Chefchaouen Chefchaouen, a small town nestled in the mountains of northeastern Morocco, offers an enchanting Mediterranean setting with its large, blue, whitewashed corridors. With its welcoming and generous inhabitants, this most charming medina quickly became my favorite place on this trip to Morocco. The Kasbah, built in 1471, is a historic attraction that I thoroughly enjoyed, with its magnificent garden and splendid views of the surrounding area from its tower. The medina's many gates, in vivid contrast to the surrounding blue, captivate with their detailing, illustrating the city's attention to aesthetics. It's also a pleasant walk to the Spanish mosque along the path leading to the Ras-el-Ma waterfall and kif fields. Although this monument is now in ruins, the hill sheltering the mosque offers spectacular views of the city, the mountains and local life. If you absolutely must spend more than a day in Chefchaouen, I can't hesitate to recommend Riad Zaitouna, offering a warm welcome and a blend of modern comfort and authenticity. The breakfasts included are irresistibly delicious, and reflect the region's cultural diversity in delicious ways. Thanks to these 4 favorite places, you're sure to experience a trip you won't soon forget. On that note, I wish you a wonderful stay in Morocco !

Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, this breathtaking destination promises to make your Christmas unforgettable. Nestled between towering mountains and a superb lake, Annecy is a visual delight. Its picturesque streets are packed with delicious restaurants featuring cheese fondue and raclette, as well as historical discoveries such as a magnificent château and numerous churches. If you're lucky enough to visit the "Venice of the Alps" over the festive season, here are a few suggestions for making the most of this enchanting place. Christmas Market Annecy's Christmas market, located in the Alpine Village from late November to early January, offers an atmosphere that's both intimate and convivial. Wooden huts decorate the town's splendid streets, creating a colorful and fragrant spectacle thanks to the varied products of the artisans present each day. Whether you're looking for original gifts for the family or sweet and savoury delights, the market has something for everyone. A lively section, with restaurants, bars and a DJ, also ensures a dynamic atmosphere. I recommend sipping mulled wine and indulging in the delights of the many kiosks without restraint. Annecy Lake Sparkling blue Lake Annecy offers many ways to marvel. Whether it's a bike ride around the lake, a hike or even a paraglide, the lake always reveals a surprising facet. I personally enjoyed the view from the benches in the lakeside park and from the boardwalk on the left bank. A boat trip also offers the opportunity to get up close to the mountains, revealing breathtaking slopes, castles reminiscent of the Middle Ages and fascinating historical facts about the region. Mount Veyrier For lovers of outdoor adventure, Mont Veyrier offers spectacular views during a hike. The trails, easily accessible next to the bakery on the left of the lake, wind through lush forest, revealing breathtaking views of the lake, the town of Annecy, the Aravis mountain range and the famous Mont Blanc. The "Chez Mamie Lise" restaurant Finally, the "Chez Mamie Lise" restaurant is a must for an authentic Savoyard gastronomic experience. The mushroom fondue is delicious, and the rustic, traditional decor creates a warm atmosphere. With impeccable service and a welcoming decor, Chez Mamie Lise seduces the taste buds and introduces diners to the flavors of the Haute Savoie region like no other. By Jessica Gallant - Nomade Magazine During a trip to Australia, I was lucky enough to have the experience of a lifetime aboard the SV Whitehaven, a 3-day, 2-night adventure to the heart of one of the world's most magnificent sites: the Whitsundays archipelago. The SV Whitehaven, a 17.5-meter sailing yacht, is the ideal choice for this unforgettable getaway. It can accommodate up to 23 passengers, each with a single bed. I invite you to discover the itinerary I experienced in the heart of this earthly paradise, departing from Airlie Beach, Australia. Day 1 - Whitsunday Island The trip began with a visit to Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays archipelago. After a hike through the forest, complete with historical information on the area, we reached the top of Inlet Hill, offering a spectacular panoramic view of Whitehaven Beach. We had the pleasure of contemplating this most incredible place for 3 hours. We lounged on one of the world's finest sandy beaches, swam in the crystal-clear water and watched majestic rays glide gracefully through the water. Back on board, we enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the crew before continuing the evening with some fun bonding games. Day 2 - Nautical activities and sunset When we woke up, we were greeted by the rising sun, and a succulent breakfast with a breathtaking view of the ocean. Our second day was devoted to water activities, with a stop at Blue Pearl Bay on Hayman Island, a jewel of the Great Barrier Reef. We had the opportunity to snorkel among colorful coral gardens and a variety of fish. After a well-deserved lunch aboard the sailboat, we explored another magnificent site by combining snorkeling and a kayak excursion before concluding the day with a sunset picnic from a secret beach. My favorite part of the day! Day 3 - A secret paradise Before finally turning back to Airlie Beach, we had the opportunity to visit a surprising little island, accessible only at low tide. It's the perfect place to swim with turtles, kayak, observe a bird sanctuary and soak up the sun on the white sand. It's definitely an unusual place that I loved discovering. A trip aboard the SV Whitehaven to the Whitsundays archipelago is an unforgettable experience, combining adventure, relaxation and exploration of the Australian wilderness. This maritime escapade has given me lasting memories of one of the most beautiful and unspoilt places on the planet. I hope you too will experience this unique adventure on a trip to Australia, where every day brings its own share of wonder and discovery.
Read MoreA perfect gateaway in Lanaudière
By Jessica Gallant - Nomade Magazine In Quebec, we're fortunate to have many accommodations in different regions that offer unforgettable stays in the heart of nature. For the past few years, I've been trying to discover as many of them as possible, as this type of stay provides me with the most memorable getaways every time. This year, my family and I spent a magical night in a dome in the heart of the magnificent Lanaudière region. Expérience Equinox invited us to enjoy a unique stay in one of its four-season domes, combining undeniable comfort with the warmest hospitality. A peaceful haven in the heart of nature Nestled in the heart of a peaceful forest, this place allowed us to relax and reconnect with nature in an exceptional way. Travelling with our 2-month-old baby proved to be a breeze, as our dome offered us the ideal setting for a serene, hassle-free family getaway. We were delighted by the quality of the facilities provided, the variety of board games available, as well as the presence of two fireplaces and a fully equipped kitchen. My husband and I were particularly charmed by the experience of the private spa, offering a breathtaking view of the sunset. The tranquility emanating from the view of the lake and surrounding nature was simply perfect. When we woke up, our eyes were opened to tree branches dancing in front of the dome's transparent canvas, a unique sensory experience. We felt as if we were alone in the world in this little corner of earthly paradise. After preparing a delicious breakfast with a comforting cup of coffee, we took one last look at the splendid view of the lake before hitting the road again. A stopover at Saint Donat To make the most of our stay in the region, we decided to head to Saint Donat to spend some time at Pioneer Beach. Whether the weather was very hot or a little cooler, this beach offered a pleasant setting to enjoy the fresh air and relax on the sand, the grassy area or the picnic tables. When hunger struck, we opted for the unmissable Broue Malt microbrewery. Not only did we enjoy several dishes from their delicious menu, we also sampled some of their craft beers, a local taste experience not to be missed! Bring a little Lanaudière home It's impossible to leave the region without taking home a few local products! In fact, there are a few addresses to keep in mind during a trip to this part of Lanaudière. I'm thinking in particular of Cochon Cent Façons for its variety of succulent pork products, the magnificent boutique La Belle Excuse for its inspiring decor and delicious olive oils, and the distillery and ÉCONOMUSÉE® Grand Dérangement for its history and quality products. Lanaudière is always a great idea when you want to spend some quality time in the great outdoors, cruising beautiful roads and savoring delicious local food. We loved our weekend in the region and can't wait to go back!
Read More5 winter experiences in Québec
By Marie-Pier Leduc - Nomade Magazine Quebec is such a beautiful playground for outdoor enthusiasts, and we're so lucky to experience all 4 seasons! While each has its own appeal, the winter season is particularly magical. In addition to the incredibly beautiful snow-covered landscapes, there are so many outdoor experiences and activities to enjoy. Here are 5 of my favorite winter experiences in La Belle Province! A weekend of ski-in/ski-out in Chaudière-Appalaches Snow means snow sports! I'm a big fan, especially of downhill skiing. A ski weekend is a must for me every winter! This season, I fell in love with Mont Adstock in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, which enjoys excellent snow conditions. In my opinion, the best way to make the most of it is to book accommodation directly on the mountain, for the ski-in/ski-out advantage. In other words, you can put on your skis from your accommodation and glide down to the slopes, or come right back during the descent. I love maximizing my days on the mountain! An introduction to ice climbing in Bas-Saint-Laurent If you're feeling brave and want to try a new sport, an introduction to ice climbing promises to be a thrilling experience! I had the opportunity to try it out this winter, and loved the thrill and sense of accomplishment of climbing the ice wall. I had the opportunity to experience this initiation at Parc des Chutes de Rivière-du-Loup, a superb location in the heart of the city! You'll also be able to admire the falls. A stay in unusual accommodation Quebec is brimming with unique, cosy accommodations for a winter break out of the ordinary. Whether in a yurt in Parc national du Bic, a Panora river lodge on the banks of the St. Lawrence or a dome perched high up in Percé, the experience is always unforgettable! What could be better than warming up by the fire or in the Jacuzzi after an active day in the great outdoors? Snowshoeing in Gaspésie National Park Of course, snowshoeing is a must when the trails are covered with a thick layer of snow. It's not only beautiful, it's so much fun! My personal favorite is the Gaspésie national park, which is truly a winter paradise! The snow-covered fir trees, the immaculate white landscapes, the mountains all around... this place is simply magical in winter and certainly worth the detour for one or more hikes. A day of alpine hiking Last but not least, a day of alpine hiking! It's a sport I've discovered in recent years, and one I enjoy more and more with each outing. Compared to downhill skiing, alpine touring offers an extra physical challenge and the opportunity to explore less-frequented areas. The joy of skiing in beautiful powder snow is in itself reason enough to take up alpine touring! What's more, there are plenty of places to practice this sport in Quebec. At Mont Adstock, which I mentioned earlier, there's an off-piste sector accessible by alpine hikers. Otherwise, the Gaspé Peninsula is full of places to explore, whatever your level. For example, the Station touristique Pin Rouge is ideal for beginners who want to stay in a safer environment. The Parc national de la Gaspésie is paradise for those who want to venture off the beaten track. I could go on and on, so many great winter experiences are available in Quebec, but I hope these 5 favorites will inspire you to get moving and explore this season. The best way to enjoy it, despite the cold and shorter days, is to take full advantage of the many winter sports and winter joys!
Read More5 must-sees on a trip to Aruba

Between its pretty sand dunes, its small beaches where the waves crash against rocky cliffs, its natural swimming pool and its amazing caves, you can certainly spend a good part of the day there! Take a trip to the north of the island During a stay in Aruba, it is absolutely necessary to take a Jeep or UTV excursion! Indeed, it is the best way to explore the desert side of the island. On this adventure, you can visit the ruins of a gold mill, jump off a cliff, snorkel with turtles, see Aruba's natural bridge and famous lighthouse, and enjoy breathtaking landscapes characterized by secluded beaches and impressive rock formations! Visit the High Rise of Aruba This is where you will find the largest hotels, many terraces on the beach, the most popular happy hours and a wide variety of restaurants and souvenir shops. You will also find Palm Beach there, which is one of the most coveted beaches on the island since it is the starting point for many excursions, its water is unsettlingly transparent and there is an unparalleled festive atmosphere! Get lost in the streets of Sint Nicolaas If you want to experience the culture of Aruba, this is the best place! This district is much less touristy and you will find many restaurants with the most authentic local flavors. It is also the perfect place to stroll through the streets and observe vibrant murals! Street art is definitely a must-see attraction on this island. Visit Oranjestad, the capital This city is colorful and dynamic! If you love to shop and have an interest in European architecture, you'll love strolling downtown! Read More5 essential experiences to discover the North Shore
By Marie-Pier Leduc - Nomade Magazine The North Shore is one of my favorite regions in Quebec for a thousand and one reasons, but the main one is the variety of unique and memorable experiences that can be had there. Along the river then fork towards the Groulx mountains, this is a road trip itinerary that will delight all outdoor enthusiasts like me! I therefore suggest 5 experiences not to be missed on this trip to fully enjoy it. Whale watching Who says stay on the North Shore, of course says whales! Indeed, the region is well known for the presence of marine mammals in the waters bordering Route 138. There are therefore many opportunities to see them in different ways. For my part, I opted for the inflatable boat cruise to observe them offshore. It was mission accomplished! I had the chance to see several of them in addition to breathing the salty air and enjoying the ride on the water. If you prefer to stay with both feet on the ground, the Cap-de-Bon-Désir Interpretation and Observation Center is also an excellent place to observe various marine mammals from the shore. I love laying down on a blanket there and just enjoying the view! Camping and hiking at the Pointe-aux-Outardes Nature Park I had a real crush on the Pointe-aux-Outardes Nature Park, which is mainly frequented for its hiking trails. The icing on the cake was for me the possibility of pitching my tent directly on the beach and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. What a memorable experience! Of course, I also took the opportunity to explore the park to discover its different ecosystems and it was a most interesting ride! A guided hike is offered free of charge to visitors and allows you to learn more about the flora and history of the park. I was even able to taste certain edible plants and learn about their virtues. It was a very pleasant moment! Kayaking and zip lines excursion A little further up Route 138, near Baie-Comeau, Saint-Pancrace Bay can be easily explored by kayak and it is definitely an essential activity to appreciate all its beauty. It is thanks to Attitude Nordique that I was able to paddle on the river to explore this surprising bay and see the waterfalls hidden there. The Between Sky and Sea excursion also allows you to navigate in a second bay to finally land on the shore and enjoy two zip line descents. Flying over the river is quite special and concludes this dynamic activity very well! I highly recommend including a nautical excursion like this in your itinerary to discover the coast in a different way. And who knows, maybe you'll be lucky enough to spot a whale or a seal! Hiking in the Groulx mountains Few travelers make the detour to the Monts Groulx via Route 389, and yet it is an absolutely incredible place for hiking. North of the 51st parallel is Uapishka Station which is an excellent base camp for venturing into the nearby mountains. After a day on the trails, you can enjoy a comforting meal, a cold beer, a hot shower and above all a cozy bed. The resort offers different types of self-catering or full-board accommodation to meet your needs and desires. Once your stay is booked, all you have to do is climb the peaks that catch your eye! It is even possible to cross the Monts Groulx independently, but this requires several days and a good understanding of the territory. If, like me, you only have a day or two, I suggest the Mont Harfang Sud trail, which is accessible and magnificent! The view from the top of the Manicouagan Reservoir surrounding René-Levasseur Island, the surrounding mountains and the boreal forest is breathtaking. It is worth the detour on its own! The microbrewery tour Finally, to taste the flavors of the region and also bring them back in your luggage, why not stop at the region's microbreweries that you will come across on your way? I love discovering good gourmet addresses when I visit a new area of Quebec and I particularly love beers from the Côte-Nord. It was therefore unmissable for me to combine good food and aperitif on the terrace of the Microbrasserie St-Pancrace in Baie-Comeau. A true delight! I also made a stop at the Microbrasserie Tadoussac for a tasting of their white and sour beers, my favorites! The view of the bay is splendid and the atmosphere friendly. In addition to these two favorite addresses, take advantage of your visit to meet local producers and eat in the charming cafes and restaurants all along the road. Tasting the region is an unmissable experience in itself! Good road!
